Florida is part of the TRICARE East Region, and Humana Military is the East Region contractor. At SteadyMind, Alexeis Menendez-Suarez, PMHNP-BC, sees eligible adults with TRICARE East, in English or Spanish, after we check the plan. TRICARE visits through this website are with Alexeis only.
Does TRICARE cover video visits?
Yes. TRICARE says you can get virtual mental health services. Virtual visits have the same referral and pre-authorization rules as in-person mental health care, and your usual cost-shares and copayments apply.
Do I need a referral?
- Active duty service members: you need a referral and pre-authorization from your primary care manager before seeing a civilian provider.
- TRICARE Prime family members and retirees: TRICARE says you don't need a referral to see a network provider for outpatient mental health office visits. We confirm how this applies to your plan before you book.
- TRICARE Select: you can see any TRICARE-authorized provider for mental health care. Network providers usually cost you less.
- TRICARE For Life: Medicare pays first.
What it may cost
Your cost depends on your plan, your beneficiary category and the provider's network status. Virtual visits use your usual cost-shares and copayments. We review this with you during the plan check, so you know what to expect before your first visit.
How to start with SteadyMind
- Email or text us your plan type, such as TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select, and whether the sponsor is on active duty. Please do not send a DoD ID or Social Security number by email or text.
- If you are on active duty, ask your primary care manager about a referral first.
- We check the plan and explain how to book your 60-minute first evaluation with Alexeis.
You must be physically located in Florida during each video visit. Learn more on our TRICARE East page, or read what to expect at your first visit.
